Andrew C. Brought

Andrew is an associate practicing in Spencer Fane’s Environmental Group. His practice includes regulatory compliance counseling, environmental and toxic tort litigation on the state and federal levels, and environmental matters associated with corporate acquisitions and real estate transactions. Mr. Brought has significant experience in civil and criminal enforcement matters associated with environmental laws, corporate crisis response, and OSHA’s process safety management standard. In addition, Mr. Brought also has been involved with white collar criminal and civil matters involving investigations by the SEC, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and health care fraud matters. He was awarded his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2002, where he graduated Order of the Coif, Order of the Barristers, and was a recipient of the Ward, Kershaw and Minton Clinical Advocacy Prize for his work with the law school’s Environmental Law Clinic. Andrew received his Bachelor's degree magna cum laude in Forestry and Wildlife in 1997 from Virginia Tech.

Prior to joining Spencer Fane, Andrew practiced for three years in the Environmental Department at Baker Botts LLP in Houston, Texas, where his practice focused on environmental matters with the energy industry. After law school, Andrew clerked with the Hon. J. Frederick Sharer with the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

Andrew is currently admitted to practice in Missouri, Texas, and Maryland and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the Western District of Missouri and the District Court of Kansas.
